In Businessmap, you can connect different Cards workflows across the account to help you better manage and visualize work. Here is more about this feature and how to use it.
1. Introduction to Related Boards in Businessmap
The Related Boards feature provides miniature maps of all workflows from the boards you choose to relate to the current board. These maps are displayed in a side panel to the right of your current board, allowing you to easily track linked cards between them.
Note: This action is available only to users with the Account Owner or Workspace Manager roles.
2. How to Use the Related Boards Feature?
Step 1: Open the Board (1) that you want to relate with the other boards' Cards workflows.
Step 2: Select the Related board's icon (2), located in the Sidebar to the right of your board interface.
Step 3: The system will prompt you to select the boards you want to connect. To select boards, click the plus icon (3) or follow the “Add a related board” link (4) at the bottom of the message.
Step 4: The Board Lists panel (5) will open. It contains a list of all boards in your account.
Checkmark the Board name to relate its respective Cards Workflow. If the Board contains multiple Team workflows (6), you will be able to select a specific one. Click Select at the bottom of the panel to relate the boards.
The Cards workflows of boards you relate are visualized in the dedicated Related Boards panel (see image below). Moreover, the panel displays all cards from the respective boards that are linked to any card on the board that you have currently opened.
(1) Use the arrow icon at the top right corner to open the related board in a new tab.
(2) Use the three dots icon if you want to remove a related board from the panel.
Important:
Once the boards are related, you can use the panel to create new cards into the related boards' flows and to establish a relationship between the cards. You can perform this using the Related board panel capabilities. Just drag & drop a card from the currently open board into the related board's workflow that is visualized in the side panel. Select the type of relationship that you want to establish and name the new task.
You can see this in action in the short video below:
In addition, you can use the side panel to create further dependencies between the existing cards in the related boards. Drag а card in the related board panel over another card and establish the dependency between the two items.
Select Ctrl and click over a card in the currently opened board to instantly filter out the cards in the side panel and display only those that are linked to it.
