1. Convert an Initiative to a Card
If at some point, you decide that your initiative is not classified as such or it is not big enough to be an initiative, you can very easily convert it into a card and place it on the Cards Workflow. At the same time, you will preserve all linked child cards, if any are available.
To convert an Initiative into a child card, drag and drop it to your Cards Workflow and select the "Convert to a card" option.
Tip: To make the linked cards visible in the closed card view → go to the Sidebar at the right side of your board interface and click on the Configure Views icon to open the view settings panel where you can configure how links are displayed.
If the initiative you converted to a card had outlined outcomes, they will appear as custom fields in the converted card.
2. Convert a Card to an Initiative
Drag and drop an existing card from your Cards Workflow to the Initiative Workflow. The system will prompt you to select any of the following options:
- Create new parent initiative — you will create a new initiative and the card itself will be linked to it as a child card. Then it will be positioned back to its previous board location.
- Create new relative initiative — you will create a new initiative and the card itself will be linked to it as a relative. Then it will be positioned back to its previous board location.
- Create new predecessor initiative — you will create a new initiative and the card itself will be linked to it as a successor. Then it will be positioned back to its previous board location.
- Create new successor initiative — you will create a new initiative and the card itself will be linked to it as a predecessor. Then it will be positioned back to its previous board location.
- Convert to an initiative — the card will instantly become an initiative.
- Clone as an initiative — copy the card to create a new initiative. The two items will not be dependent.
