Unified Integration with the New MCP Server
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Businessmap MCP (Multi-Channel Platform) server—a game-changer for integrations and automation! With this critical update, you can now connect external tools and automations through a unified, structured interface. The MCP server empowers you to access and manage card information, subtasks, comments, and more, all in a consistent way. Imagine being able to retrieve detailed card data, manage subtasks, or even trigger complex, multi-step actions with a single prompt. This opens up endless possibilities for integrating Businessmap into your existing workflows and scaling your automation efforts.
Setting up the MCP server is straightforward, whether you’re using Cursor, Claude desktop, or Claude code CLI. Once configured, you’ll have access to a robust set of functionalities: search for cards using advanced criteria, create and update cards, manage subtasks, and handle comments.

OpenSearch-based Querying using the API
The Search for Cards with OpenSearch endpoint provides a powerful and flexible way to run advanced searches across all cards in your Businessmap account. Instead of using predefined filters, this feature allows you to submit a full OpenSearch Query DSL payload, giving you precise control over how cards are filtered, sorted, and returned. You can customize the response by defining which fields to include through the _source parameter, manage pagination using size and from, apply complex filters through the query object, and order results using the sort array. This makes the endpoint ideal for analytics, reporting, AI-driven features, and any scenario requiring fine-grained, programmatic access to card data.

Track On-Time Delivery Trends in the Board Flow Widget
Staying on top of your team’s delivery performance just got easier! The Board Flow Widget now features a dedicated trend line that visualizes on-time delivery percentages over days, weeks, or months. This highly requested feature lets you instantly see how your team is performing, with clear, actionable insights. For example, you can track whether 90% of your cards were delivered on time last week, and compare it to this week’s performance—all at a glance.
This enhancement is especially valuable for teams focused on continuous improvement and meeting deadlines. By visualizing trends, you can quickly identify patterns, address bottlenecks, and celebrate wins. The new trend line is seamlessly integrated into your existing Board Flow Widget, making it easier than ever to monitor and improve your team’s on-time delivery rates.
Norwegian Language Support
Businessmap is now even more accessible with the addition of Norwegian language support! This update brings full translations to the product interface. Whether you’re a Norwegian-speaking user or working with international teams, you’ll enjoy a seamless experience in your preferred language. This enhancement was inspired by feedback from our valued customers and demonstrates our commitment to making Businessmap a truly global platform.
[Change in behavior] Filter Out Out-of-Office Replies in Email Integration
Say goodbye to cluttered email threads! Our email integration now intelligently filters out automatic out-of-office replies, ensuring that only relevant messages make it into your workflow. This feature is enabled by default for new customers and will be rolled out to all users in the coming months. If you prefer the old behavior, you can opt out—just let us know. This small but mighty improvement will help keep your communications focused and actionable.
Multiple AI Canvas / Whiteboards Improvements
Convert Any Text Object into a Workflow Card
AI Canvas / Whiteboards just got a very useful upgrade! Now, you can convert any object containing text—notes, shapes, and more—directly into a workflow card. No more limitations: if it has text, you can turn it into a card and bring it into your process.
Import Workflows Without Cards
Enjoy greater flexibility when importing workflows into Whiteboards. You can now choose to import workflow cells without including the cards inside them, thanks to a new option in the import dialog.
Cards can be shown or hidden via the context menu, giving you full control over what gets imported and displayed.
This is perfect for setting up new boards or templates without cluttering them with existing tasks.
Additional Shape Entities
Unleash your creativity with a new set of shapes in Whiteboards! We’ve added pentagons, octagons, plus signs, left and right arrows, stars, and downward-pointing triangles.
These new shapes make it easier to visualize processes, highlight key points, and create more engaging diagrams. Start using them today to make your Whiteboards even more dynamic and expressive.
AI-Powered Insights
Unlock the power of AI with the new Insights section in Whiteboards. With just a click, you can generate detailed explanations, concise summaries, key takeaways, and actionable items based on the content of your cards or cells.
For frames, Insights considers all objects within the frame, giving you a comprehensive overview.
Allow Selection of Context Cards When Generating Outcomes/Children with AI
Take your AI-generated outcomes and children to the next level! When using the “Create with AI” panel, you can now select additional cards to provide extra context for your prompts. This ensures that the AI has all the information it needs to generate relevant and accurate results.
The panel is also draggable for your convenience, making it easier to work with multiple cards and context sources.
AI Prompt History
The new “History” button in the prompt input field lets you view and select from up to 50 previous prompts, organized by Today, Yesterday, and Older. Each area—notes, templates, outcomes, children—has its own dedicated history, so you can easily find and reuse prompts where you need them most.
Suggest Prompt with AI
Stuck on what to ask the AI? The new “Suggest prompt” feature in the Create with AI panel generates 10 tailored prompt suggestions based on the context of your selected card, its parents, and any additional objects you’ve chosen. This makes it easier than ever to get started with AI-powered workflows and ensures you’re always asking the right questions.
Additional Context for “Generate Outcomes with AI”
We’ve added an extra “clarification” step when generating outcomes with AI, just like when generating children. This allows you to provide more specific guidance to the AI, resulting in more accurate and relevant outcomes for your cards and projects.
Better OKR Style
AI-generated OKRs now follow the John Doerr style, focusing on clear, measurable, and outcome-driven key results. This ensures your objectives are impactful, time-bound, and aligned with best practices, making it easier to track progress and drive results across your organization.
Ability to Open Board from the Context Menu of Imported Cell
Quickly jump to any board from the context menu of an imported cell in Whiteboards. This new option opens the board in a new tab, making navigation faster and more convenient when working with multiple boards and cells.
Improve Card Mentions
We’ve made it easier and more intuitive to mention users and teams in your cards. Now, the “board members” option only sends mentions to users explicitly added to the board, giving you greater control. Teams added to the board appear at the bottom of the mention list, separated and with a special icon.
You can also mention entire teams by typing their name, and if you try to mention more than 500 users, you’ll receive a helpful message explaining the limit. These improvements make communication more targeted and efficient.
Add Second Certificate for Enhanced Security
Security is a top priority, and now you can add a second certificate for authentication. This means you’ll have both a current and a future key, ensuring uninterrupted access even if one key expires. The UI clearly displays the expiration date for each key, using color coding for quick status checks. If the primary key expires, the system will automatically use the secondary key, so your users can always log in securely. This feature is especially valuable for organizations with strict security requirements and frequent key rotations.
Admin Privilege for Managing User Attributes
Managing user attributes just got easier! A new admin privilege allows designated users to add and modify attributes for all users in the account, not just owners. This is particularly useful for large organizations that need more flexible user management. Users with this privilege will see all users in the account, similar to the “Invite users” privilege, making administration more efficient and scalable.
Copy Subtask ID and Content
We’ve added two handy options to the subtask menu: you can now copy the subtask ID or its content with a simple right-click. This makes it easier to reference, share, or duplicate subtasks as needed, streamlining your workflow and saving you time.
Search Improvements
Searching for information is now faster and more intuitive. Results from your current board are displayed at the top, and when you switch to advanced search, your filters and search text are preserved. This ensures a seamless search experience and helps you find what you need without losing your place.
Initiatives and Outcomes Widget Enhancements
For initiatives that haven’t started yet, the widget now displays 0% progress and uses color coding to indicate delays, instead of showing N/A. This provides clearer, more actionable information and ensures that your dashboards and charts always reflect the true status of your initiatives.
Add a Stacking Option to the Bar Chart in Advanced Search
The advanced search bar chart now supports stacking, allowing you to break down results by different criteria and gain deeper insights into your workflows. This feature was requested by our users and is perfect for analyzing complex data sets.
