In Businessmap, the History tab allows you to track all changes made to a card. The system records every modification made by users, and these entries are permanent—they cannot be deleted or edited. Here's everything you need to know about using this tab!
1. What Does the Card History Show?
The card's history tab offers complete transparency regarding all card-related events, including card movement, changes in ownership, block comments, color modifications, priority changes, and more. Every card has its own history tab, easily accessible by opening the card and selecting the History tab to view all entries.
All new card events and updates are logged chronologically, including information about the author, additional event details, and timestamps. You can use the filter above the events table for a quick search.
Card Linking History
All changes regarding the creation and deletion of links are also preserved in the history tab. So, whenever users create or delete card links, the system logs entries in the card history.
Business Rule Execution History
A new history event will be logged every time a business rule is executed with at least one successful action. It will be followed by an entry log for the action that has been triggered as per the rule setup. Clicking on the rule ID will redirect you to the Administration Panel, where automation rules are stored. If you need to modify or share the rule with other users, you can quickly access its configuration panel.
Important:
There are 5 types of actions triggered by Business rules: create, update, link, move, copy. Each action can be performed either on the card that triggers the business rule (trigger card) or on another card (target card).
The trigger card is the card that triggers the business rule. The target card is the one in which the changes occur as a result of the rule.
Depending on the executed action, business rules will leave a history log as follows:
- The trigger card will get a "Rule Execution" log with information about the rule.
- The target card will get a "Rule Executed" log with information about the changes that were made.
In actions where the trigger and target card are the same (e.g. update, move, create subtask), the system logs the‘ Rule Execution’ log only.
In addition, history events will be logged every time an action is successful, even if no changes have been performed (e.g. update the color to red on a card that is already red; move a card to a location and the card is already in that location; etc.).
