1. Way easier custom field management per board
Managing custom fields per board just got way easier and their setup no longer requires switching between different control menus.
The main purpose of this enhancement is to bring out the custom field settings to the board interface. Users can now create, add, remove and make custom fields mandatory directly from the board they have currently opened.
To access the Custom fields settings panel, click on the three dots icon on the Board sidebar and select "Manage Custom Field".
You can access the Manage Boards Custom field panel from the card Context menu -> Custom Fields as well as from the Card Fields menu.
Please, check the dedicated article for more detailed information.
2. Redesigned Subtask tab
Following in the footsteps of the card Comments tab, Subtasks got a refreshed new look and improved functionality. The intention behind these improvements is to help you get the information you are looking for faster.
Now, the Subtask tab displays the number of total Subtasks in the card, which lets you see the number of completed Subtasks vs total Subtask from anywhere in the card.
To focus on uncompleted tasks, user can hide completed Subtasks using the button in the top right corner.
Your feedback will be highly appreciated.
COMING SOON
In addition to the improvements described above, we've prepared several larger updates that will influence user and account management. To ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted experience, these features will be delivered in a soft launch that will roll out gradually to our customer base throughout February.
Here are the features you can expect soon:
3. Project becomes Workspace
For the sake of clarity and thanks to your feedback, the collection of boards previously referred to as "Project" becomes "Workspace". This feature will not include any functional modification. All settings and characteristics of Projects will be preserved in Workscapes.
From now on your Boards will live in Workspaces.
4. Redesigned Administration panel
In Kanbanize 6.10 we revamped the Administration panel and changed the positioning of certain UI elements at new more intuitive locations.
The three main tabs in the Administration panel remain as follows:
(1) User Management - all user-related activities will be performed from the tabs in the row.
(2) Business Rules - the tab provides access to all Business rules in Kanbanize.
(3) Integrations: Email Integration and Integrations with other systems.
The remaining functionalities that were previously located in the panel, now have the following positions:
- Archived Workspaces and Boards - to access all archived Workspaces and Boards storage location, please use the Archive icon located in the filter at the bottom left side of the Dashboard.
- Card Tokens - Card tokens management will be performed only from the corresponding panel available on the Board Sidebar.
5. New User Management controls
In 6.10, Administrators and Project Managers are replaced with Account Owners and Workspace Managers. For finer control over access to different product areas and modules, we introduce the concept of Admin Privileges.
5.1 Admin Privileges
Admin Privileges (img.1) are a new level of permissions that allow granting users granular access to things like Payment Panel, Business Rules or Integrations without necessarily making them Account Owners.
Here are the 5 Admin Privileges:
- Account Owner - user with all of the Privileges below
- Create Workspaces - allow users to create and manage Team Workspaces.
- Make payments
- Manage Business Rules
- Manage Integrations
5.2 Workspace Managers
Workspace Managers (img.1) are users that have permissions to manage and configure settings of Workspaces and boards that they are assigned to. That includes the right to:
- edit board workflows
- create Custom Fields
- create Card Types
- create Card Templates
- create Card Tokens
- assign/remove existing users to/from boards
When assigned to a board, the Workspace Manager status overrides any other user Roles.
6. Mobile Improvements
The new year brings a lot of new things. For our iOS and Android users, this means bringing initiatives to our mobile apps.
Now when you open a board which has an initiatives workflow you will see a "Switch workflow" button in the upper right corner. With it, you can easily switch between Cards and Initiatives workflows and see cards in their respective workflow structure. We have also redesigned the cards, so you can differentiate between cards and initiatives with a quick glance. Тhey are also more coherent with the ones you see in the web app. For initiatives, you will see the current progress and all child cards color-coded with their current section color.
