1. Display only selected custom fields
With Release 6.16, we improved the custom fields visualization options.
Users are now able to select which of the existing custom fields in the board will become visible on the closed card view. This is particularly useful for teams that have a great number of custom fields and use some of them more frequently.
To make the selection of custom fields, you have to open the sidebar to the right of your board interface and click the Configure Card View icon.
First, you have to checkmark Show custom fields and then you have to select Custom (1).
This opens an additional window with the list of all existing custom fields (2) that belong to the board. Select only the fields that you want to display and save your changes.
2. New Role actions with card links
The user role in Kanbanize is the set of permissions and allowed actions defined in the Administration.
For better link management and control in the everyday work process, we extended the Card links Allowed actions per Role:
- create and set sync properties
- reorder links
- delete links
Checkmark any of the options to allow the Card links actions for the user role you create or modify.
3. Alphabetical Order of the Advanced search criteria
With this product update, all the criteria in the Advanced search panel are sorted in alphabetical order.
You can use the new filter functionality on the top of the panel to narrow down the pills in the Regular and Custom Fields sections. Now you can easily find the pill you are searching for and filter out the rest.
4. New Privilege: Invitе User
The Admin Privileges are a system-level of permissions that allow users to access and manage different product areas. With Release 6.16, we introduce a new Privilege: Invite Users.
Previously only Account Owners could invite new users. Now, user members having this privilege will be able to invite new team members.
Note: You can assign newly invited team members only to boards of which you are a Workspace Manager.
5. Recent Users in the Card Assignee dropdown list
The list of Assignees is now conveniently divided into two groups: Recent Users and Others Users.
The Recent Users list contains the most relevant and active users on the current workflow.
This is very helpful as every workflow contains a different type of work and it is very likely that the assignees per workflow might be different. The separation helps you browse through a shorter list with the most relevant potential assignees.
The Other Users list contains the rest of the team members.
6. Recent Types in the Card type dropdown list
Following that same concept as with the Assignees filed, the selection of Card Types is divided into two lists: Recent and Others. The Recent Types are the ones that are most relevant and frequently used for the workflow, where the card belongs to.
7. Changes in linked cards tooltip
Prior to this release, users could see linked cards information only if they were assigned to the boards where cards belong to. Now, this limitation is partially removed.
This change affects only the linked card's tooltip that is now visible on hover for all team members.
This helps users to get a better idea about the status and progress of related work items.
Important: You still need to be assigned to the boards where linked cards belong to in order to see the Title, the Assignee as well as to access the linked card itself. This limitation aims to protect sensitive information and to restrict unauthorized access.
8. Other product improvements
-
Remove "Create Team Workspaces" as a default privilege
Previously, a newly invited user could create Team Workspaces by default.
Now, all newly invited users must be granted this permission explicitly. This provides Account Owners with better control over delegating workspace management.
Note: The permission selection remains as is with all existing users. - Automatic addition of users to Workspace Management boards
To get full advantage of the Management Board and see the big picture, you need to belong to all boards in the Management Workspace.
With this product update, the system will automatically verify if the user you add to the Management board has access to all connected boards. In case the user does not belong to one or more of the boards, a system message will suggest to add them.
Moreover, when you connect a new Board to the existing Management Workspace, the system will automatically verify is all current members have access. If not, a system message will suggest adding them.
9. Mobile App Improvements
- iOS
We are really excited to present you the news on the mobile front this month!
iPad users have long benefited from a scalable whole board view that makes it easy to get a visual overview. iPhones have grown a lot in size since and we decided it was time to bring that same view there. So now you can enjoy the continuous scrolling experience on your phone, too.
Also, we have enabled landscape mode for iPhones as this is a more convenient orientation when you want to look at the whole board. If you prefer the old single column view you can still switch to it from the Settings screen.
However, please let us know what features you miss from the old view as we plan to discontinue support for it in the future.
