1. Save Different Chart Settings in the Analytics Module
The focus of this release is the ability to save custom settings for your charts in the Analytics module. You will notice that the left sidebar is split into two sections:
- “Dataset configuration” - where you configure the workflow data to be loaded
- “Saved views” - where you save different chart views containing that data
Let’s see how the saved views work.
Suppose you’ve loaded some data on the Cycle Time Scatter Plot, and you’ve applied custom controls for the chart. Once you save the view, the system will remember both your dataset and the chart’s controls settings so you can reuse them later.
In case you make any modifications in the dataset configuration or the chart’s settings on a saved view, you can update it. You can also add your saved views as widgets directly on a given dashboard and easily rearrange them inside the Analytics module.
Note that the saved views are applied per user and per chart, and they can’t be shared. You can only share them as dashboard widgets.
2. New Exceeded SLE Heatmap
To further improve the analysis of your service level expectations, we’re introducing the Exceeded SLE Heatmap. With its help, you can examine which SLEs are most frequently not met in your process as well as how much time they were exceeded with.
The new chart is accessible from the SLE tab in the Analytics module. On its y-axis, you will see a list of all the SLEs in your process. On the x-axis are respectively visualized the exceeded time for a given SLE and in how many instances it wasn’t met (count).
The chart’s controls allow you to analyze how often and by how much time in total or on average (including different percentiles) certain SLEs were exceeded. You can also choose to visualize data in various time units (depending on the SLE’s work hour configuration) and select which SLEs to include/exclude from the diagram.

3. New Action in the “Card is Moved” Business Rule
Moving forward, we’re releasing a new “convert subtasks to child cards” action in the “Card is moved” rule.
As the name suggests, whenever you move a card with subtasks to a predefined area on a board, you can turn its subtasks into child cards and specify where they should be created. It’s important to mention that if the subtasks contain attachments, they will be transferred as attached files inside the newly created cards.
4. Automated Push Authentication
To facilitate the login process for those of you who have a 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) set up, we’re implementing an automated push authentication. This means that when making a login attempt, you will now get an “Approve” or “Deny” message on the Kanbanize mobile app.
You should know that this doesn’t affect the ability to input an OTP (one-time-password) as you can still use it to authenticate your login.
5. “Show All” Option in a Property’s Dropdown Menu
In this release, you will notice a new “Show All” option in a property’s dropdown menu where you need to choose among several values. For example, when using a given property in the Advanced Search, previously, you could only see its applicable values based on given criteria (ex. filtering stickers on a board).
Going forward, this will still be the case, but you can choose to see all property values through the “Show All” button.
6. Color Adjustment for Color Blindness
To accommodate the needs of people who are color-blind, we are introducing an option to optimize the system colors for improved accessibility. You can configure it from your account details under the "My account" panel.
Turning it on will activate a new color palette, which is color-blind-friendly. The main colors that will be adjusted include green, orange, blue, red, purple, yellow. This will help color-blind people better distinguish the state of their work.
7. Visual Improvements
Continuing from the card component’s redesign in our previous release, we’re implementing the new look of icons and links in the initiative component too:
This product update also comes with a slight visual improvement in the Board Dropdown:
8. Notification for Worklog Deprecation
By Q1 2022, we’re going to retire the worklog functionality as we’re looking to give you a more useful solution beforehand. We appreciate your feedback, so please contact us at product@kanbanize.net to discuss your needs with Product management.
Inside the product, you will see a message about the deprecation when using the worklog reports and the logged time filter property.
9. Other Improvements
- “Invoke Web Service” Improvement
To facilitate the use of the “Invoke Web Service” action from some of the business rules, you can now add dynamic ID parameters on the URL field (Card ID, Internal Card ID, Custom Card ID).
-
See Full Title of Cards in the Links Tab
From now on, the system will display the full title of your work items when using the board view in the Links tab of a card.
- Keep Card’s Formatting Toolbar Always Visible
To help you edit cards faster, especially those with long descriptions that need scrolling down, we’ve made the rich text editor’s toolbar always visible on top.
- Make The “Low” Priority Icon More Distinguishable
Finally, to better distinguish between the card’s priority icons, the “Low” priority one is now colored in blue.
Happy Kanbanizing with Kanbanize 8.10!
