To get started with Businessmap Reports, we have covered the basics of our Reporting tool in the dedicated article.
Introduction
The Throughput Report lets you see all completed cards for a specified period of time.
You can filter the results by:
- Date Range (mandatory)
- Workspace
- Board
- Workflow
- Lane
A card is considered to be completed when it has spent time in the Backlog, Requested, or In Progress columns and has reached the Done/Archive columns within the Date Range you have selected.
Notes:
- The report only counts the cards that have reached and stayed in the Done/Archive columns by the end of the Date Range. If a card was moved to Done, but was then moved back to In Progress, it will not be counted in the report.
- The report does not include the cards’ current position or cards that have been discarded.
How to configure your Throughput Report?
Go to Reports and choose Throughput Report from the drop-down menu.
Start by selecting the Date Range (1) you want your Throughput Report to cover. This is a mandatory field you will find in the upper left corner of the Reporting menu. You can choose between several available operators — is, before, after, is between, in last.
You can then click on Refine report criteria (2) to further customize your report and filter results based on Workspace, Board, Workflow, Lane, or custom fields.
Once you are done filtering your results, click on the magnifying glass (3) to generate your report. By default, it will be generated in a pivot view. Please refer to our dedicated article to learn more about the pivot view in the Reporting Tool. You can switch to table view by clicking on the Table View (4) icon.
To add more card fields to your Throughput Report, click on Configure Results (5) and select the pills you need from the Regular fields, Time units, and Custom fields options.
Important: The goal of the Throughput Report is to show your throughput for a given time period. That is why it does not account for the current position of the cards (e.g. if a card was completed during the Date Range you have selected, it will be included in the report, regardless if it was moved backward to another column after that).
Limitations
Please note that there is a limit of 10K results in the Businessmap interface, and a 50K result limit for export and Power BI reports. This applies to all other reports from the Reporting Tool as well.
