Introduction to the "Cycle time per column" Report
The "Cycle time per column" report displays historical data on all the columns a card has been through and how long it has stayed there.
This report can pull results for archived cards, but it doesn't consider cards that have been discarded.
How to Configure Your Report?
To set up your report, start by selecting the Date Range in the left-hand menu—this is a required field. You can adjust the default "is" operator for the reporting period by clicking the small down-facing arrow and choosing from options like "before," "after," or "is between."
Use the “Refine report criteria” menu to narrow your results by applying filters for specific boards, columns, users, etc. Once configured, click the magnifying glass to generate the report in Pivot View. Learn more about the Pivot View in the reporting tool. While Pivot View is the default, you can switch to Table View by clicking the Table View icon in the upper right corner.
To further customize the report's structure and how the information is displayed, use the “Configure Results” button in the same area.
Notes about the “Configure results” menu:
- Total Cycle Time: To see the total time a card has spent in a column, regardless of the selected date range, choose the "Total cycle time" option in the “Configure results” menu. For example, if a card has spent 5 days in the "In Progress" column but your report's date range is set to "Yesterday," the report will show a Cycle time of 1 day and a Total cycle time of 5 days.
- Block Time: By default, the report displays block time data in the "Block Time (selected time unit)" column, showing how long a card was blocked in a specific column during the selected date range. The time is shown in the unit you selected, e.g. days. If you also want to see how many times a card was blocked in that column, regardless of the configured date range, select the “Blocked times in column” option.
- Total Block Time: To view the total time a card was blocked in a column, irrespective of the date range, select the "Total block time" option. This will display the cumulative block time for the card in the respective column.
Note: If a card has been in the same column multiple times, the cycle time will be combined into a single entry, reflecting the total time spent in that column.
