Use the Calendar feature to stay on top of deadlines and track projects in a calendar view. Here is more about this feature and how to use it!
1. Introduction
The Calendar feature in Businessmap gives you a bird's eye view of the cards that have a set deadline. Just click on a date to see which tasks are due on that day, where they are located on the board (e.g. Backlog, In Progress), and who is responsible for them.
The calendar's flexible filter option lets you customize your results and is especially useful for big projects with many users and various deadlines. With it, you can easily filter your view to focus on what you would like to see on the calendar at any time.
2. How to Open the Businessmap Calendar?
To access the calendar, go to the Board Sidebar on the right side of your board interface. Click on the three-dot icon and select Calendar. From there, you can monitor all your datе-related information.
3. How Does It Work?
When you open the calendar, you will notice that its default view is set to Deadline. This means that all of the deadlines from your selected filter will be highlighted in the Calendar integrated within Businessmap.
If you click on any of the dates highlighted in green, the system will search across all boards in your account (unless you have applied a filter) and generate a list of the cards, whose deadlines correspond to the selected day.
Note: Filtering work items by Deadline in the calendar will also display subtasks with due dates.
Click on the Deadline link at the top of the calendar to change the deadline property with any of the other available options:
Regular Fileds:
- Created at
- First blocked date
- Last blocked date
- Last modified
- Last moved
For example, if you select the Created at property, the calendar will highlight all dates that correspond to new card creation. The same principle applies to the remaining properties.
Custom Fields — any date-related custom fields (including calculated custom fields of type date) that you have added to your board or account, depending on your applied filter, will be available as a selection.
Notes:
- You can apply an additional filter by clicking on the Due Date link to show the cards that expire by day, week, or month.
- To get the most updated results, click on the Refresh icon in the upper right corner.
4. How to Use the Calendar Filter?
You can use the calendar filter to narrow down your search. As a result, the calendar view will show data relevant to specific boards or cards that match your requirements. To configure your data, use the filter icon in the upper right corner of the calendar interface.
To refine your results, click on the Add new filter link. This will open a configuration window where you can select your search criteria depending on your needs.
Example: If you want to get a calendar view of all cards assigned to a particular user on a specific board, select the “Board” and “Owner” options from the configuration panel. Define the board and owner, and apply the filter.
You can further customize your search with all available configuration options (e.g. priority, size, tags, type, custom fields, etc.).
