Overview
By default, your Businessmap account runs on shared (multitenant) infrastructure — a secure, highly available environment hosted on Amazon AWS, where resources are distributed across multiple customer accounts. This setup is ideal for most organizations and comes included with every subscription.
For accounts with advanced requirements, Dedicated Infrastructure is an optional or mandatory upgrade that provisions an isolated environment exclusively for your organization.
Who Is It For?
| Account Size | Dedicated Infrastructure |
|---|---|
| Under 500 users | Not recommended |
| 500–1000 users | Optional |
| Over 1000 users | Mandatory |
Why Would You Need It?
Dedicated Infrastructure is recommended when your organization requires:
- Performance isolation — your environment is not affected by the activity or load of other customers
-
Infrastructure customizations — specific configuration adjustments tailored to your account's needs, ip whitelisting, db replicas for analytics and reporting, etc.
*Note: Some additional resources beyond the standard setup may affect your subscription cost. - Regulatory or compliance requirements — some industries or governments mandate that data must not reside on shared systems and/or located in specific countries and regions.
- Internal security policies — many enterprise IT policies require dedicated hosting for business-critical SaaS tools
Hosting & Data Centers
All Businessmap infrastructure runs on Amazon AWS, the industry's leading cloud provider and the first to achieve MTCS Tier 3 Certification. Amazon AWS is also certified by the US DoD for sensitive data and is compliant with European Union internet policy.
Dedicated infrastructure can be provisioned in the following AWS regions:
- USA, Virginia — default for all new accounts and customers in North and South America
- Ireland — available for customers based in Europe and the rest of the world
- Germany (EU), Spain (EU), São Paulo (Brazil), Sydney (AU), etc. - available upon request, depending on specific client needs or local government regulations
Both primary data centers and the dedicated environments have HA (High Availability) setup and maintain 99.98% uptime availability by Amazon SLA. On the application level, Businessmap supports zero-downtime monthly updates with a staged rollout process to guarantee uninterrupted access.
Security Standards
Dedicated infrastructure inherits all of Businessmap's platform-wide security guarantees:
- Mandatory TLS 1.2 encryption on all data in transit
- AES-256 encryption on all Amazon RDS database layers
- Restricted access to infrastructure, with penetration monitoring active 24/7
- Twice per year 3rd party security audits, including penetration testing
- Compliant with ISO 27001:2022, PCI-DSS and all industry best security practices for SaaS
How to Enable It
Once enabled from your Payment Panel the Businessmap team will get in contact with you and set it up on your behalf. This is usually done over weekends at a convenient time for the account users as it involves downtime. To discuss this option for your account, contact us at support@businessmap.io.
