2. Finding Archived Cards in the Advanced Search
In Businessmap, you can search for archived cards either from the Permanent archive or through the Advanced search:
1. Finding Archived Cards in the Permanent Archive
To find/see cards that have been permanently archived, click the View archive icon in the Ready to Archive column on your board.
Important: The Permanent archive is available per workflow. For example, if you click the View archive icon in the Initiatives workflow, you will only see work items that were archived from this particular workflow. To find cards that have been archived across multiple workflows, please check pt. 2. Finding Archived Cards in the Advanced Search.
There are two tabs at the top of the permanent archive panel: Permanent cards archive and Browse versions.
If you are looking for cards from a specific time period, that does not belong to a version, you can look at all cards from that period by going to the Permanent cards archive tab that displays a list of all cards you have archived. The panel allows you to narrow down your search and define the time range for which you want to run the search. Select the from/to dates from the calendar picker and click Search to get the matching results.
If a card is a part of a version, you can find it by browsing the versions from the Browse versions tab at the top of the window.
2. Finding Archived Cards in the Advanced Search
Open the Advanced Search and populate the information about the cards you are searching for, e.g. a board or a specific workflow.
1. Before running the search, enable the “include archived cards” configuration from the Options menu in the bottom left corner. The search will run through all active and archived cards and load all results for you.
2. If you want to run the search through archived cards only, you can filter your search by “Section” and choose the “Archive” value. It is worth noting that this would also retrieve cards that are located in the Ready to Archive columns (i.e. not archived yet).
Permanently archived cards will be in read-only mode, so if you want to modify an archived card, you need to unarchive it first. Learn more about unarchiving cards here.
